Â鶹ɫÇéƬ wins Green Gown award for its SEEDABLE project

Â鶹ɫÇéƬ has won a Green Gown Award for a project which embeds sustainability, enterprise, equality and diversity into the curriculum.

The 2023 , in association with UK Research and Innovation, celebrate innovative and change-making initiatives and projects in sustainability across the further and higher education sectors.

Â鶹ɫÇéƬ won the Tomorrow’s Employees award for its SEEDABLE (Sustainability, Enterprise, Equality and Diversity through Active and Blended Learning) project to empower graduates to create a sustainable future.

The project embeds the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) into all programmes, with a teaching and learning focus on building the competencies to create sustainable solutions.

The judges liked the diversity and clear ambition of the approach and the fact it was embedded in the curriculum. They also praised it for being replicable and applicable.

Pauline Hanesworth, Head of Teaching and Learning at Â鶹ɫÇéƬ, said: "We are delighted the SEEDABLE project has won a Green Gown Award. This is a testament to the commitment Â鶹ɫÇéƬ has made to support the embedding of sustainability and environmental competence through our curriculum.

“It reflects the hard work of all those who have contributed to SEEDABLE – the Review Leads, the Review Teams, Programme Teams, the Strand Leads and the Steering Group. It truly is a collective effort through which we are supporting our students to become the changemakers of tomorrow."

The awards ceremony was held at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool yesterday (30 November).
